Care for your pet whilst at Coast

It is important to us that your pet feels relaxed when they come to visit us at Coast. We aim to make each visit a positive experience for them by helping to reduce any anxiety they may feel when coming into a veterinary environment and when necessary being away from you.

Consultation time

The consultation time provides us with the opportunity to meet your pet and to allow them to relax whilst discussions take place with you regarding their mobility. Part of the examination may be performed outside of the clinic whilst we view them exercising. When indoors we may ask you to hold your pet whilst a full clinical assessment is performed. If needed we will ask a member of the nursing team to help, always looking to find the most appropriate and gentle approach for each patient.

If your pet needs to stay with us at the clinic, then we will discuss with you their individual feeding and medication requirements, and any routines and behavioural needs they may have so that we can make their stay as relaxed as possible.

Radiology reporting at Coast Vets

We have lots of cosy bedding, so rest assured that they will be comfortable during their stay.

If your pet has a specific dietary requirement, then we are happy for you to bring a small amount of their diet into the clinic for their stay. We are unable to accept raw diets in the clinic.

Due to the nature of our referral orthopaedic clinic, we do not have many patients visiting at the same time. This allows our team to provide individual one-on-one care for your pet whilst they stay with us. For the time that they are with us they are part of our family.

We support the use of anti-anxiety and calming veterinary products that provide appeasing pheromones and natural calming chemical messages to help our patients feel reassured, calmer and relaxed. We use both Adaptil and Pet Remedy room diffusers and infused patient bandanas within the clinic environment.
